William Allen Farm Wedding. This story begins with Kate, Katelyn, and Katelyn. Nope, not a typo, just a beautiful aligning of the stars for this gorgeous fall wedding at The William Allen Farm. Kate and Katelyn contacted me about a year prior to their wedding. When they wanted to meet up to discuss wedding plans with me at Bissell Brothers, I knew we were going to be a great fit.
Kate and Katelyn met in college at Colgate, but really fell for each other later in Boston. They dated for four years, and one day overlooking the Boston skyline, Katelyn surprised Kate by proposing. Fast forward to the most beautiful wedding day. William Allen Farm is easily one of my favorite venues. The grounds are spacious and picturesque, but the vibes are always cozy and warm. Kate and Katelyn’s wedding planner, Kelly Golia, created the most welcoming atmosphere for guests and made the whole day stress-free for all involved.
From writing their own vows (so many tears) to creating handmade picture place cards for each guest, this wedding was packed full of personalized touches that really made it a unique wedding. It’s honestly tough to choose a favorite moment of this day, but something that was really special is that Kate and Katelyn both wanted the moment of seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle. We made this happen by putting Katelyn in the mezzanine of the barn as Kate went by, and the Kate got her moment when Katelyn came down the aisle. It was absolutely beautiful.
Oh, and there was one other moment that will be hard to be topped. During the maid of honor speech, Katelyn’s sister presented the newlyweds with a gift box. As an outsider, I was expecting something sentimental, an heirloom maybe, but the crowd started laughing. Kate and Katelyn opened the box, and got down on one knee because they had just been iced! Perhaps the best maid of honor speech ending I have ever seen, at one of the most meaningful and fun weddings I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. Cheers!
