Wedding Day

When I arrived for Sonya + John’s Beech Ridge Barn wedding day, I couldn’t believe the transformation of the barn. The last time I had been there for a styled shoot the previous year, it was just being remodeled. The floors were dirt and the windows hadn’t been put in. Let me just say, what a transformation! The owners of Beech Ridge put so much love and hard work into making their property into the modern barn venue that Maine needed.

Sonya + John are Texans that dream of being Mainers, so they went all out for their wedding with a lobster bake rehearsal dinner at a rental on the ocean. This is where I first joined them to meet their friends and family. In general, I highly recommend rehearsal dinner/welcome drinks coverage to my couples. It allows me to get to see the important people of your wedding day. Therefore, I can better focus on capturing what matters on the wedding day.

About the Wedding

For this couple’s Beech Ridge Barn wedding, they kept things intimate and meaningful. Choosing to invite very close friends and their closest family members to enjoy Maine with them. They enlisted a live band to play the best renditions of their favorite songs and included a lot of family in their wedding party. Their first look was emotional and beautiful, and the entire guest list definitely knew how to dance!

The Vendors

The couple called on the services of an amazing vendor team to make their Maine Wedding vision come to life. Purple Orchid Wedding Planning kept the day running smoothly, while Bounty O’Blooms created beautiful wildflower inspired floral elements. Bread + Butter Catering served up yummy dinner as always, and Viva Sings kept the dance party going all night. Also, can we talk about the beautiful watercolor invitations in the photos below? They were created by Blue Eye Brown Eye, a calligrapher based in Seattle. When Sonya sent me a sneak peek of these on Instagram, I couldn’t wait to see them in person.
