Some couples have a special something, where you just know that their marriage is meant to be. Brenna and Nate fit that description–there’s simply no doubt in my mind that their destinies have brought them together!
Brenna and Nate’s story begins almost a decade ago, when they first met in Philadelphia during college. While they didn’t actually attend the same university during freshman year, their paths were steadily growing closer and closer together.
When Brenna transferred sophomore year from Temple University to La Salle, Nate’s university, their mutual friends brought them together. And after spending a little more time together, they were practically inseparable.
After a year of hanging out at parties, a springtime park picnic marked the transition from close friendship to actually dating. From there, the pair graduated college, moved in and out of apartments, switched jobs, and spent time traveling. They weathered all of the major milestones in their twenties together, including the purchase of their first house.
Finally, in September 2021, there was another milestone: Nate and Brenna’s engagement.
Brenna and Nate knew that celebrating their love for each other with their nearest and dearest would be a memory they would cherish forever. It’s not every day you get to marry your best friend, so they wanted a wedding that would mark such a special moment in their lives.
The couple knew from the start that they wanted an intimate wedding, surrounded by friends, family, and nature. Holding the wedding in Maine made sense because Nate’s family lived there, and the Maine landscape was the perfect place for the peaceful and idyllic ceremony of their dreams.
Brenna and Nate’s wedding was held at the New England Outdoor Center, a jaw-droppingly picturesque location that offered plenty of lush forest greenery and lake views. The September weather held out for them, and their outdoor ceremony was exactly as they wanted it to be.
For the occasion, Brenna wore a simple yet stunning gown that matched the natural backdrop perfectly. Her all-white bouquet included dahlias, roses, and baby’s breath, and added a touch of whimsy to the fairytale-esque scene. Nate looked dapper in his suit, and he was absolutely beaming as Brenna walked down the aisle.
After the ceremony, the couple and their guests celebrated with good food, good drinks, and good music. They danced the night away, letting their feet carry them away, pausing only to warm themselves by a roaring bonfire.
I’m always honored to photograph such lovely and intimate wedding ceremonies like theirs! I’m thrilled to know that the photos from their wedding day will remind them of their love for each other for years to come.
