When Sarah + Brad chose me to document their Cadillac Mountain elopement in Acadia National Park, I was so excited to share this experience with them. Being on top of a mountain in Maine with the love of your life, vowing to spend forever together. That is just about as romantic as it gets in my book. The two got engaged on Cadillac Mountain last year in a spot just yards away from where they had their ceremony. They love Maine – it’s hiking trails, landscape, and especially it’s beer. Overall, knew they wanted to come up to Maine from Pennsylvania for their best day ever.
Instead of hotel rooms, these two rented the cutest AirBnbs to get ready in. First, I joined Sarah and her two “bridesmaids” in the pre-wedding excitement. Then, we drove the winding road up to the top of Cadillac where we were met with the most intense wind I have ever experienced! After we got our legs under us in what felt like a tornado, we walked down to a beautiful spot overlooking Bar Harbor. There, we witnessed a beautiful and hilarious ceremony. Sarah + Brad’s vows included inside jokes, funny memories, and lots of swears – it was unapologetically them, and I love that.
Also, can we talk about Sarah’s bouquet for a second? I believe that no matter the size of your wedding, a bridal bouquet really helps to make the day feel a bit grander. Her bouquet was made by the amazing Chickadee Hill Flowers, who specializes in earthy, loose and romantic blooms. They’re gorgeous, so go check them out here!
