Sugarloaf Mountain Wedding | Carrabassett Valley, Maine

Tracy + Brendan’s Sugarloaf Mountain Wedding was the first wedding of the year for me. The ski resort alone is a magical place, so adding an adorable couple on their wedding day made the location all the more beautiful. Sugarloaf Mountain weddings usually take place on the “beach”, but we encountered a little rain for good luck, (okay a LOT of rain.) That didn’t slow down the party at all, though. Sugarloaf’s chapel is so gorgeous and cozy, and is one of the best rain plan locations I’ve seen. Afterwards, the bride + groom  even followed me up onto the mountain in the storm to get portraits in the lilacs, and I am in love with those images. There’s nothing more that I appreciate in my couples than lovers who are willing to adventure with me, even if it means their clothes get a bit dirty.

Tracy’s bridesmaids had matching purple Chuck Taylors, and so did the moms! Kona, the couple’s Aussie, walked down the aisle with a bridal party member and enjoyed lots of dog treats while the pair said their vows. Brendan’s face, as he watched Tracy walk down the aisle, is one of my favorite first looks I’ve ever seen. They included a whiskey ceremony involving Wiggly Bridge Distillery, a local Maine distiller. The comparison of the combination and aging of the whiskey to the couple coming together is one of my favorite new wedding traditions, as you can enjoy it in the future. Cheers!
