Setha + Zack are long time friends of my husband and me. We all went to college together, and when they got engaged, I was so honored that they chose me to photograph their Sunday River Wedding in Maine. The wedding was held at The Jordan Hotel, which I generally ski to, but it was nice to be able to walk around the area. I normally see it with feet upon feet of snow covering it. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect fall day. The sun was streaming through the trees on the slopes and the oranges and yellows were complimenting the warm feel of the day. Nature really was on our side.
The couple chose to play into the season with their attire. The groom and his men wore navy suits and the ladies wearing burgundy, jewel tones. Overall, they were very complementary to the fall colors. In the end, Setha’s dress was the showstopper of the day, the Willowby Philomena gown. A flowing a-line with pearl details that shimmered in the sun.
The groom and my husband were in the same fraternity, meaning two things. This wedding reception was going to be an absolute party. And I was going to know everyone I was photographing on the dance floor. Between shot skis, laser lights, and the starry sky above us, their reception was really one for the books.
